Authentic vintage Goebel Hummel “School Boys” #170/I porcelain figurine featuring three boys gathered around a classroom slate. A desirable larger-size Hummel with beautiful hand-painted details. Height: Approximately 7.5 inches. Marked 170/1 on underside. No chips, cracks, or repairs noted. Some light crazing noted in bottom. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description. A wonderful addition to any Hummel or Goebel collection and a classic depiction of school children by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel.

COLLECT ONE OR COLLECT ALL! MJ HUMMEL ANNUAL PLATE. 1980 – “SCHOOL GIRL”. HAND MADE AND HAND PAINTED IN WEST GERMANY BY GOEBEL HUMMELWERK. 7.5 INCHES WIDE. WE HAVE JUST ACQUIRED A FULL COLLECTION OF HUMMEL COLLECTOR’S PLATES FROM OUR CLIENT. THESE WERE LOVINGLY CARED FOR BY HIS MOM IN A SEALED CURIO CABINET FOR OVER 50 YEARS! In 1971, Hummel produced its first annual plate. The very first plate, “Heavenly Angel” was released to the factory workers to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the W. The plate was later made for retail sale. This first plate was so popular in the United States, it was decided that similar plates would be released annually from then on.
