Vintage & Rare 1964-72 W. Goebel/Hummel Mary With Child 9.5 Statue W. Germany

The makers mark on the bottom. Was the key indicator for this date range. This is a Goebel archival piece. The colors are soft and expertly applied. The faces of both Mary and Baby Jesus are kind and captivating. Very good preowned condition. No chips or cracks. There is Some crazing on the piece most Noticeable on the base. Stands 9.5 tall. A hard-to-find piece from this time period. A perfect gift for those that collect Goebel/Hummel or religious statues. Will be very carefully wrapped and packaged.

At least one of the glasses still has its original label applied. This is a LOT of SIX (6) Goebel Hummel Figurine Stem Wine Glasses with 14K Gold Trim that were made in West Germany. The Bowl of each Glass has a Grape and Leaf Pattern Etched in 14K Gold along with a 14K Gold Border Around the Top Rim. Each Glass has a Different Porcelain Hand Painted Hummel Figurine as the Stem (See Photos) and an Amber Base. The’M I Hummel’ signature is impressed in the base. The Stylized Bee, sometimes abbreviated as Sty-Bee, was a bee with sharp angular wings; the wing tips are parallel with the top of the V. ABOUT HUMMELS. Hummels are the result of a partnership between Sister Maria Innocentina Hummel, Franz Goebel and The Convent of the Siessen in the 1930’s. The sketch art of Sister Maria Innocentia began to appear on in the 1930s in Germany and Switzerland, mostly pastoral drawings of children. Around 1934 porcelain maker Franz Goebel saw the drawings and thought they could be turned into porcelain figurines.
