Here is a Hummel/Goebel flower Madonna with an open halo and child figurine. It is 12 1/2″ high and 6 1/2″ x 9 across the base. There is clear crazing. There is a tiny blue paint dot under the glaze from the factory on her neck. There are no chips or cracks. She is in very nice clean condition.

Hummel “Flower Madonna” figurine with closed halo. Designed by Reinhold Unger and first produced by Goebel in 1935, it is one of the earliest Hummel figures. It was retired in 1950, but has been re-released several times since. This fine porcelain figurine was made in 1990 and remains one of Hummel’s most collectible figurines. The figurine depicts Mary holding the baby Jesus while holding a flower, a bird perched on an open book on her lap. A notable feature is the light blue cloak, symbolizing the Holy Mother’s protection. Hummel’s signature is incised on the back bottom hem of the figurine’s cape. Measures 8 1/4″ high x 5 3/4″ wide and is in Mint to near mint condition free of nicks or fleabites, does show crazing commensurate with age, please see all photos. This is a rare, hard to find piece of German Hummel Art, signed. This is the first reproductions of the original made by Marie Innotentia Hummel. No visual fisures, lines or breaks. I only found very light crackeling and minor points without porcelain (see images). The original drawing was created by Maria Innocentia Hummel and sculpted by Reinhold Unger in 1942. The Hummel Goebel mark is from 1935 to 1944. Height: 13.2 (34 cm). Length: 8.3 (21 cm). Width: 4.8 (12 cm). Weight: 3 lb 12.7 oz (1720 g). Your questions in this or any other matter are welcome.
