7 BUTTON MERRY WANDERER TMK3 #11 2/0 ULTRA RARE 4.5 Tall Goebel Hummel MINT
Offered for sale is a MINT & ULTRA RARE – 7 Button MERRY WANDERER # 11 2/0 – TMK3 – 4.5 Tall by Goebel Hummel. This figurine depicts a happy-go-lucky boy with a travel bag in his left hand and an umbrella on his right shoulder setting out to make his mark in the world. It is ultra rare because of the 7 buttons instead of usual 5. A very popular figurine, the Merry Wanderer can be found in more sizes than any other M. One item to watch for on this size is a rarer version of this item with either six or seven buttons on the shirt in place of the typical five. The buttons appear to be painted on and the painter evidently lost count when applying them uniformly on the shirt. Molded by master sculptor Arthur Möeller in 1935, the predominant feature here is the 7 buttons of this very popular and sought after Merry Wanderer. Almost identical to the HUM 7 – Merry Wanderer HUM 11 is the smaller version of the Merry Wanderer Hum 7. This variation of the figurine is 4 ½ tall and has seven painted vest buttons instead of the usual five buttons. These are found on the smaller and rarer HUM 11 2/0 version. This one has the slightly raised painted buttons which feel raised to the touch, whereas most show only a painted circle on the flat surface. You can count on this figurine being more valuable than the usual 5-button version. (Text and last picture courtesy of mihummel. Org). Original Goebel Hummel figurine # Hum 345 “A Fair Measure” by Goebel. Hight 15 cm (about 6 inches). The figurine was made in 1972 in the rare old style. This figurine was originally modeled by master sculptor Helmut Wehlte in August 1956. It was later completly restyled by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek in 1972. This is a rare early piece in the old style. On the last picture I added a figurine in the new style for comparison. The figurine is well kept and in excellent condition with no damage, chips, repairs or the likes. Please feel free to contact me anytime for further information.
