Hummel large figurines, “SCHOOL BOYS”, mold # HUM 170/I, and SCHOOL GIRLS, # HUM 177/I. This charming pair of large Goebel M. Hummel figurines include the pair of ARS prints that Goebel used the original Hummel art to create these beautiful figurines in 3D, ARS # 5332 & ARS # 5333 in a double display folder. When one compares the different figurine variations that Goebel created from Hummel art, these children are wearing more detailed clothes and you may have a better understanding of German culture during the 1920’s as shown in these prints. Note, the yellow objects in the prints, may be a ball of knitting yarn for the girls or for the boys, the rag that they use to wipe chalk off of their slate, since paper was not generally used in children’s homework. These were made in West Germany and are in very good condition, no breaks, or repairs; though light crazing underneath their base that cannot be seen when displayed. This charming pair of Goebel M.
