An elegant White porcelain Flower Madonna figurine, and the standing Baby Jesus gazing at a flower held delicately between Her fingers. An open book in Her lap, with a curious little bird carefully perched. This figurine exudes grace and innocence throughout. The robe has a flowers and stars pattern with a nice feel when it’s touched. Base is marked – Western Germany, and has 10/3 imprint mark denoting it is a Flower Madonna in white, and V-bee stamped symbol in blue, denotes its production between 1960 – 1972. 11-1/8″ high x 8 ” wide. In excellent condition and no cracks or crazing. Note: this is not the shorter 8 model you may see elsewhere. I removed an old felt protective cloth which was glued to the base acting as a scratch buffer, so a little glue residue remains. It is not visible, because it’s on the bottom base. The figurine was made by the Goebel Company which began production of Hummels in 1935, and the 10/3 stamp indicates its style as the Flower Madonna. It is based on a painting by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, who’s works inspired the Hummel line. Master modeler Reinhold Unger’s.
