VINTAGE 8″ LARGE UMBRELLA BOY #152 GOEBEL HUMMEL FIGURINE TMK-CROWN-1 MARK Condition is “Used. The Crown Mark (TMK-1, CM). The Crown Mark (TMK-1 or CM), sometimes referred to as the “Crown-WG”, was used by Goebel on all of its products in 1935 to 1949 when M. Hummel figurines were first made commercially available. Those subtle differences are significant to the collector. The letters WG below the crown in the mark are the initials of William Goebel, one of the founders of the company. The crown signifies his loyalty to the imperial family of Germany at the time of the mark’s design, around 1900. The mark is sometimes found in an incised circle. This is a M. Hummel 8 Umbrella Boy, one of the umbrella tips is nicked. The trade mark on the bottom, Stamped Crown Mark along with old style incised number 152 proves the authenticity and rarity of the Hummel. This Hummel is older than pieces with the Incised Crown Mark, which indicates this piece may have been manufactured as early between 1935 and 1949.
