













Hummel “Flower Madonna” figurine with closed halo. Designed by Reinhold Unger and first produced by Goebel in 1935, it is one of the earliest Hummel figures. It was retired in 1950, but has been re-released several times since. This fine porcelain figurine was made in 1990 and remains one of Hummel’s most collectible figurines. The figurine depicts Mary holding the baby Jesus while holding a flower, a bird perched on an open book on her lap. A notable feature is the light blue cloak, symbolizing the Holy Mother’s protection. Hummel’s signature is incised on the back bottom hem of the figurine’s cape. Measures 8 1/4″ high x 5 3/4″ wide and is in Mint to near mint condition free of nicks or fleabites, does show crazing commensurate with age, please see all photos.
