This elegant composition portrays the Virgin Mary and Child in a tender, peaceful scene. Mary is seated beneath her halo, enveloped in a flowing pale-blue mantle decorated with delicate raised floral details. The Christ Child stands beside her upon an open book as they admire a tiny blue flower held gently in Mary’s hand. A charming, brilliantly colored little bird completes the scene.
