Lovely expanded Kinder Choir set, including several musicians/angels. All in excellent condition. We rescued this set from a Rochester, NY estate sale. These pieces have sat untouched in a large glass display cabinet for decades. Most pieces have their original box, but not all.

Figurines began when a porcelain shop owner discovered the postcard images created by a Bavarian nun in 1934. Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel’s religious drawings and paintings, mostly of children, were transformed into porcelain figurines by Franz Goebel. The figurines were well-liked in Bavaria and across Germany and grew in popularity when American soldiers brought them home after World War II. Hummel quality is amazing – and known around the globe as the best there is! Master sculptor Arthur Moeller first made this piece in 1955. In 1990, Goebel issued a special edition of “Crossroads” to commemorate the demise of the Berlin Wall. Limited to 20,000 pieces worldwide, it is the same figure except the “Halt” sign on the post is placed at the base of the post as if it had fallen off or been torn down. This figure is the regular production model with the sign on the post with “Ost”, or East and “West”. Piece is in excellent condition with no defects. No cracks, chips, or breaks.
