MINT Condition, Goebel Hummel & Disney Minnie “Be Patient” porcelain figurine set, with black oak display base. Metallic plaque says Be Patient. There were only 1,500 of these produced by W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik Germany and this one is #870. No original box or COA. The figurines measure approximately 4″ in height by 2 1/2″ in width and are hallmarked “Goebel Germany” as well as the artist/sculptor’s signature, Marion Huschka. Both porcelain pieces are in perfect condition, hand painted in bright, vibrant colors and gold rims around the base of each. The Hummel piece is embossed on the upper part of the base with M I Hummel. Both figurines fit into the recessed circles in the base for display. The base measures 7″ in length by 3″ in width and 1 in height. This whimsical piece came about because two artistic giants, Walt Disney and Franz Goebel, shared an understanding of the spirit of childhood, which became the basis of a warm personal relationship since 1951. I have other Goebel/Disney figurine sets, which include: “March Winds (with Tigger)” — “Springtime (with Mickey in Apple Tree)” — “Springtime (with Minnie in Apple Tree)” — “Music Time (with Pinocchio)” — and Two Merry Wanderers (with Mickey).
