Up for sale is a rare early marked 1950’s maybe even before that Goebel Hummel Christmas Nativity donkey. Donkey is in great condition just has a little bit of a residew on the bottom edge from someone putting a thin foam layer on the bottom to protect it. I pulled it of when I found this piece and would not of known it was a vintage Hummel and a rare one at that, thinking with the right cleaners it will totally come off and be in that much more of a great condition. Donkey has the 1950’s mark on the bottom and just Germany on it plus what I can sew is a stamped mark of H X and looks to be 12 and not sure what number or if that one after it.

HUMMEL 5.5- #112-JUST RESTING-TMK-1 Incised Crown w/Erna Schoenheit Marks (III). This is listed New Other because the condition is such that it is as new as it gets without being completely new. There are three red marks that are associated with the Master Paintress Erma Shoenheit, one of only a few female Master Artists. There are no chips, scratches or other flaws. There is the onset of Typical Age related Crazing which is visible and noticeable if you look at the all white porcelain bottom underside where the marks are. It was placed in a display cabinet as soon as it was brought back to the state of Iowa from Germany in the 1970’s, and has only been touched to dust and clean if necessary in over 50 years. We have grand and great-grand kids who may not treat her that way, and I would prefer that she (the figurine) be somewhere safe. For COLLECTORS this is slightly rare being #112 only and being among the earliest of the Hummel Figurine line. If you want more images, please do not hesitate to ask me for them.
