Hummel figurines are the larger pieces that Goebel produced over the years. One excellent example of these large figurines is Hummel “Land In Sight”, #530. It was first released in the U. It was issued as a limited production of 30,000 pieces, individually numbered, to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Columbus’s discovery of America. Hummel Club Pamphlet Included – Closed Edition. This hummel was originally modeled by master sculptor Arthur Möeller in 1955. It was first introduced in the U. In the summer of 1990, Goebel announced a worldwide limited edition of 20,000 pieces in a uniquely altered form, to commemorate the first anniversary of the opening of the Berlin Wall. Hummel, serialized # 4331 of 30,000 is personally signed by the sculptor Gerhard Skrobek, who was reported by the New York Times as the premier postwar artisan of Hummel figurines, the rosy-cheeked porcelain people that have graced millions of mantels around the world for nearly three-quarters of a century.
