Offered for sale is one of my favorite Hummel figurines: The Artist. This piece stands out because of its incredible expressiveness. When you look at him, he almost comes to life. Can you see it too? Why is the TMK4 Artist so rare. The piece was initially sculpted in 1955 (TMK2 era) by Master Sculptor Karl Wagner, but not released for sale until the TMK4 era (1964 – 1972). It was restyled and refined in 1970 by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek. This exquisite figurine captures a sparkling-eyed young boy, poised to begin his next masterpiece with a paintbrush in his right hand and a palette in his left. At his feet rests a pot of extra paint brushes. The artistry and charm of this piece are truly exquisite. The perfect size makes him easy to display. Perfect for an art lover!
